The Craft Chocolate Calendar – June / July 2024 Wrap Up
Published
Well hello!
Welcome to beanstalkr’s first (of hopefully many!) Craft Chocolate Calendar Wrap Up!
(Name is temporary…. We don’t mind it, but we feel like we’re missing an obvious pun)
For the past month we’ve been pulling together a global calendar of chocolatey events to:
- show just how far and wide the craft chocolate community spans
- highlight all the little ways everyone can enjoy bean to bar chocolate, including
- chocolate tastings and pairings
- educational courses (on eating and making!)
- festivals
- origin trips
- and more!
- And this can all be filtered by country / event type to help you find your next chocolate coated adventure!
And while we’ve listed 70+ events over 16 countries and 38 states since May 2024, we thought a post highlighting the next month of activities might be a nice way to showcase the amazing work achieved by the craft chocolate community.
So here goes… (and reach out if you have any feedback at all! Better post names included!)
Quick look: 18 June 2024 – 31 July 2024
And we’re looking forward to seeing these stats grow!!
Number of events: 27
Number of Countries: 7 (+1 for Virtual Events!) – (we know we need to look harder in Europe and Asia. Comment below if you have any recommendations!)
And check out the variety!
Some things we couldn’t help but notice:
1) Chocolate lovers will find ANY excuse to taste chocolate
You’ve got maker specific tastings, chocolate and tea tastings, wine tastings, spirits tastings, mushroom tastings, cocktail tastings – it’s a fun list!
There are tastings on almost every continent, but North America takes the cake for the most variety (and the most wine!)
Seriously though…
And they all look so good!
2) It’s a festive month as well!. Our fellow southern hemisphere chocolate lovers are embracing the cooler weather to kick off their New Zealand and Australian Chocolate festivals!
(We were going to say “upside down citizens”, but we’re feeling pretty right side up sitting here in freezing cold Melbourne haha)
3) We also found a few events where:
- You’ve got a solid excuse to get sticky fingers: In Victoria, Australia here and California, United States here
- Which may lead to more serious chocolate making endeavors in Texas, United States.
- And could very well end up with you wanting to look into your own chocolate business – yep we’ve found this too (and it’s available online!)
4) And finally, if things go to plan, you might just end up whisking yourself away to to cacao farms on Hawai’i.
With this cacao sourcing trip (how amazing does this look!)
It’s been 30 days since we launched the calendar (which was easy to track given…. well it’s a calendar) and it’s been awesome to see all of the different events happening around the world. We can’t wait to see this list grow and highlight all of the amazing craft chocolate events out there. Might even try to get to a few ourselves…. We’ll post more reviews and news and post and all things bean to bar chocolate – so stay tuned!
Thanks for talking beans with us and hopefully we’ll see ya soon!
