The name’s a little ridiculous, on purpose. The tasting is sincere: 6 chocolates + stories of cacao, culture, and connection.
Chocolate for Depressed People: A Gathering of Connection and Cacao
When the world feels heavy, let chocolate be the soft place you land.
Join us for a quiet, cozy tasting where we’ll explore how cacao has helped people connect across cultures and centuries, from ancient ceremonies and diplomatic exchanges to modern rituals of healing and celebration.
As we taste six curated, ethically sourced chocolates, we’ll reflect on cacao’s rich history as a tool for unity and emotional openness. This is a space to enjoy chocolate, share stories, and experience the simple joy of human connection.
No small talk. No forced cheer. Just good chocolate and honest company.
As Priya Parker reminds us, “Gathering with intention and care is a life-affirming practice.” This tasting is designed to offer comfort, connection, and a moment of shared humanity in the midst of chaos. We will l taste six curated, ethically sourced chocolates. While some of the chocolate will be as dark as your mood, we will sample some milk and white chocolate as well.
Sometimes, sharing something beautiful, like good chocolate, reminds us we are not alone.
“The power of community to create health is far greater than any physician, clinic or hospital.” — Mark Hyman
