Our Story
This word encapsulates everything we are trying to do. We made bold moves with our new packaging. We’re introducing a simple, yet radical concept for craft chocolate; packaging that protects your chocolate and conveniently reseals to make your world just a little easier. For those that have active lifestyles this innovative packaging allows you to enjoy our chocolate while doing all the activities you enjoy without the hassle of broken pieces in your gear.
K’UL is on the mission to change the world through chocolate by elevating women, protecting children, and fighting slave labor. We have an unwavering commitment to producing ethically sourced, direct-trade, hand-crafted, small-batch bean to bar chocolate that uses only organic and Non-GMO ingredients.
We believe that telling the human story of chocolate is incredibly essential. There is an interconnectivity between grower, processor, manufacturer, and consumer, it’s symbiotic and critical that everyone is treated fairly and with dignity. Ultimately, we want our customers to feel confident that their purchases make a positive impact on the world we live in.
We currently source cacao and work with producers in three countries; the Dominican Republic, Peru and our newest origin Uganda. In addition to our partnerships in these countries, we are looking to other origins such as Ghana, Honduras, and Vietnam.
This involves a willingness to not simply pick up the phone and call a broker to order cacao but instead going directly to the farmers and cooperatives. Taking the time to understand their dreams and desires, how they want to do business and creating a space where everyone wins. It’s working with governments, certifying bodies creating connections so everyone can benefit. In the end, it’s all about relationships; creating a conduit between those working in the fields and processing the beans and those enjoying the magical taste of chocolate.
