Think quick! Name all of the foods you’ve eaten today.
……
Now think about all the ingredients in those foods
We eat a HUGE variety of foods throughout the day. Sometimes we’re rushing a meal inbetween tasks, and at other times, absolutely nothing comes between you and your cookie.
We’re pretty lucky that we can eat this huge variety of food (and devour that cookie).
But is it possible we’ve started to take the variety of food for granted?
In this post, we talked about how we’re turning to fast food to feed us and comfort us. Unfortunately, the processes and the ingredients used to make our beloved fast foods are designed to give us meals that always taste the same.
And it’s to the point we might’ve stopped thinking about flavor and how GOOD something actually tastes.
The force that drives this entire website is:
Every bite counts. Each and every one.
Take that bite. Enjoy those flavors.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the expertise to get into the science behind all of it (you know the flavor compounds and molecules that literally create the flavors we know and love – And if you’re curious, reach out and we can introduce you to some amazing communities!)
Instead, we will cover:
These articles will in turn help us find flavors in chocolate.
So yes, this is a short, preface type post with an even shorter contents list.
But we’ll be back with so much more and we hope you stick around for it, because:
While we have all the information we need at our fingertips, for some reason we find ourselves eating food that is fleeting in flavour, or that has none.
“We’re in the middle of a food crisis. You have more options than ever before. But there’s also more bad food than ever before…. The food world is getting a lot worse and a lot better at the same time.”
Tyler Cowen – Economist, Columnist
It’s time we really get to know our favorite foods and rediscover those flavors again. One bite at a time.
We’ll be back really soon with Stages One, Two and Three. Til then, have a bite of something and think about it. Let us know what you find!
