Come with us on a tour of a northern region of Peru.
Where the exquisite Marañon and Awajun cacaos originate and where the Andes mountains and the Amazon jungle meet.
What will we be doing?
– Visiting co-ops and farms, where you’ll taste fresh cacao.
– Discovering Monte Grande, a +5300 year-old active archeological site, ascertained to be where humans first domesticated cacao.
– Partaking in a cacao ceremony with tribal members of the Awajun community.
– Exploring the lost cloud city of Kuelap, an ancient pre-Incan fortress from the Chachapoya civilization.
– Trekking to Gocta, the 3rd largest free-leaping waterfall in the world.
– Attending the first day of the world-famous Salon de Chocolate y Cacao.
